Have you heard? Skinny & Co. Deodorant line is now available. Unlike the “big” names, our deodorant is simple, effective, chemical-free, non-toxic and all-natural. We struggled to find a deodorant we ourselves would use, so we developed our own.
At Skinny & Co. we believe that simple products are better products. This idea is at the core of our business and is why all of our products are always comprised of 5-or-less recognizable ingredients. That being said, we are always looking for new ways to use our coconut oil and new products that are truly good for us (and our customers!).
Why Make All Natural Deodorant?
Almost every other offering on the market has a slew of chemicals in them acting as antiperspirants, fragrances, texturing agents, and artificial colorings. Here is a list of chemicals to look out for in other deodorants.
- Aluminum compounds- Clogs pores to prevent sweating. Aluminum exposure has been linked to Alzheimer’s and interferes with the bodies estrogen processes, which can cause a higher risk for breast cancer.
- Parabens- Preservative. Acts like estrogen in the body, disrupts our delicate hormone balance, and is linked to breast and prostate cancer.
- Steareths- Byproducts of harsh chemical manufacturing. Simultaneously produce carcinogens and dioxanes.
- Triclosan- Pesticide. Kills bacteria on the skin, when combined with water, creates a toxic carcinogenic gas called chloroform.
- Propylene Glycol- Can damage nervous system and liver. Skin irritant. Known to be harmful at 2%, yet will usually find a concentration about 50% in deodorant.
- TEA & DEA- Triethanolamine and Diethanolamine. Chemicals so harmful they are already banned in Europe for being carcinogens, causing a higher risk of cancers.
- Artificial colors can cause allergic reactions and some are known carcinogens.

The bad news? There are a crazy amount of ingredients in your deodorant that you want nothing to do with.
Why is Skinny & Co. Deodorant Better?
The good news? Our deodorant has absolutely none of those things. Our deodorant is comprised of 5 simple ingredients.
- Skinny Coconut Oil- lauric acid content kills bacteria
- Carnauba wax- Softens and smoothes skin
- Arrowroot- Natural absorbant
- Baking soda- natural pH balance
- Cedarwood or Lavender- essential oils for light uplifting aromas.
It’s simple, effective, and free of anything nasty and toxic. What more could you ask for! So, go ahead and try it, your body won’t regret it.
Hi, Jamie! Using natural, aluminum-free deodorant will result in toxins being pulled from your body. If you are irritated after use, wait until you have recovered then try again. Do not use antiperspirant or deodorant with aluminum or toxins, as when you use natural deodorant again, it will just begin the process of pulling those toxins out again.
I got the lavender deodorant and I’m arm pits are very red and irritated ? Will this go away or am I allergic
